Meet Maura Beaton. Maura is The Grim Reader. As a Tarot Reader, Maura’s work blends occult philosophy with her knowledge of psychology and her dark sense of humor.

Her approach to Tarot does not use the cards to predict the future, but as a symbolic map of the human mind. She has spent over a decade studying the spiritual, mythological, astrological, and alchemical symbols layered through each Tarot card and uses this knowledge to unveil the psychological patterns shaping her clients’ present circumstances.

But her path to Tarot did not unfold in isolation.

Maura holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and is trained in person-centered therapy. Her academic work taught her how to sit with complexity, contradiction, and the hidden architecture of human behavior. Rather than separating psychology and mysticism, she found they were describing the same terrain in different languages.

As her understanding of psychology and Tarot deepened, she started to use Tarot as a symbolic mirror. A way of making the unconscious conscious. A tool for reconnecting clients with their own intuition.

In her readings, Maura integrates active listening with esoteric insight, creating a space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and repeating patterns with honesty. This is not about bypassing reality with spiritual platitudes. It is about confronting what is really going on and choosing consciously how to respond.

Each session is an invitation to see clearly, act deliberately, and move forward with greater sovereignty.
