You’re never alone when you have inner Demons
Pay attention to your demons… they know the way out of hell
Our Philosophy
Life isn’t “good vibes only.” It’s the full spectrum of experience. The wins and the losses, clarity and confusion, impeccable timing and spectacular failure.
The Grim Reader embraces this. We look at life as it is. And in its entirety. The pleasant, the unpleasant, and the inconvenient truth that neither exists without the other. After all, life and death are not opposites. They are two sides of the same coin. And when you truly accept that death is a part of life… you can really start living.
When you ignore half of your experience, it doesn’t disappear. It distorts. What you suppress—an emotion, a trait, a reaction—doesn’t go away. It turns inward. It becomes what people call an inner demon… and those demons have a way of making themselves known.
Yet, they are not as sinister as they seem.
Unruly, yes, but not malicious. They love to show up as strong emotional reactions and repeating patterns. Whatever will command your attention. And they will continue their performance until they have it.
Not to destroy you. But to be acknowledged.
If you’re willing to sit with the guilt or shame that usually accompanies these demons and give them the attention they’re so incessantly demanding, the drama fades. Their power dissolves.
They’re not monsters. They are the disowned parts of you.
If you can observe them, honor them, and reclaim them, then what once sabotaged your life will begin to strengthen it.
Guiding Principles:
-
The purpose of life is to become who you are. And the only person who knows who that is… is you.
The goal of our Tarot readings are to reconnect you with yourself. The Grim Reader does this by using the cards as a window into your soul. The aim is to help you recognize your own inner voice so you can take action that is aligned with who you truly are.
-
Everyone has a tendency to edit reality. We prefer to see the world as we would like it to be, rather than as it is. But in doing that, we blind ourselves to what is really going on. We overlook red flags and see others as either all good or all bad.
The Grim Reader helps clients to see their circumstances fully. The cards do not hide anything. They show the gains and the losses. The new beginnings and inevitable endings. The rose and the thorns. Because clarity doesn’t come from comfort. It comes from seeing completely.
-
There’s no denying that life is deeply unfair. Many people are simply dealt a bad hand. But if you find that you keep attracting the same people, the same job, the same situations into your life, it’s because they all have something to teach you. Repeating patterns signal that there is a part of your personality that you are blind to. If you can reflect on these patterns and come to recognize your own unconscious contributions to the situations you keep finding yourself in, you will gain the power to act consciously and finally break out of the cycle.
The Grim Reader helps clients achieve this by using Tarot as a reflective tool. In thinking through why specific cards appear in a reading, we help clients connect their current circumstances to larger patterns and unveil how internal thoughts, feelings, and beliefs may be driving their external reality.
-
Have you ever noticed that demons in old paintings look almost comical? There’s a reason for that. It’s because if you can learn to laugh at your inner demons, they lose their power.
Confronting your demons—which are really just suppressed parts of yourself—can be hard. There are usually deep-seated feelings of guilt, shame, or fear that you also have to face. This is where laughter can help. While laughing at your problems won’t make them go away, it will make them more approachable. It will also give you some distance so you can see things from a wider perspective. When you can laugh at the chaos your inner demons create, they will loosen their grip. And you will gain conscious control, over what once controlled you.
This is what The Grim Reader is all about. Readings are not meant to predict doom, but to look at situations that feel doomed with levity.
