Tarot is a tool for connecting with your intuition. The cards act as a mirror, reflecting the dynamics at play in a given situation. Each card’s imagery is rich with symbols drawn from astrology, mythology, alchemy, Qabalah, and other spiritual systems.
In a reading, these symbols are interpreted within the structure of a Tarot spread. Each position in the spread is used to connect the card’s meaning to your current circumstances. For example, a card in the “context” position explores underlying influences, while an “action” card suggests how to move forward.
Just as important is your personal reaction to the cards. Oftentimes, the cards will confirm something you already sensed but hadn’t fully acknowledged. Other times, a card may trigger resistance. That reaction can be just as meaningful, offering insight worth exploring.
Ultimately, Tarot works through a combination of symbolism, intuition, and reflection. It’s less about predicting the future, and more about helping you understand your situation with greater clarity.
-
No. Tarot does not predict a fixed or guaranteed future.
Some spreads may include an “outcome” card, but this is meant to reflect your current trajectory based on your present mindset, which can easily shift or change.
At its core, Tarot isn’t about forecasting. It’s about clarity. A reading should ultimately connect with your inner voice so you can make choices that are aligned with who you truly are.

The Grim Reader approaches Tarot from its esoteric foundations. She draws from the astrological, alchemical, and mystical underpinnings of each card, which enables her interpretations to go beyond the visual imagery to access the hidden structure and meaning behind the cards. With this knowledge, she uses Tarot as a reflective tool. Her readings function to connect clients with their own intuition and gain clarity on their path forward.
The goal isn’t to give you answers. It’s to help you see more clearly so you can find the answer within yourself.

Here are a few recommendations to make the most of your Tarot reading:
Come with a clear question or intention for your reading.
Join from a private, quiet space where you can speak openly without interruptions, as the conversation is a key part of the reading.
If possible, use a computer rather than a phone so you can clearly view the Tarot spread.
Finally, take a few moments beforehand to breathe and center yourself so you can be fully present during the session.
